Try to examine the side of the stone with a loop or magnifying glass and look for a second glue line. You might have "solids" with a clear quartz cap also, which I haven't really heard of.

To reglue the stones, you would need to unglue them by soaking them in acetone for a few days; I would have someone who is experienced look at them first. However, to reglue, you basically use clear #330 expoxy. Glueing them back together takes some practice to make sure there are no air bubbles, such as slightly heating the stone first and pressing from "side to side" when applying the top stone.

Local gem clubs are a good source. Look into the AFMS website (http://www.amfed.org) for a lead as to a club near you. Also a friend of mine, Stan McCall, has done this type of re-work for a small fee. His shop is out here in So. Cal. in the city of Orange. I can give you his number and e-mail if you wish.
