How do you go about sealing an opal so the moisture does not evaporate? I live in the desert and its very hot and dry my opal weighs in at 56.6 grams it has nothing but red fire the size of a small chicken egg.
I dont really want to cut it and am afraid of moisture loss. I heard you could seal it with some kind of sillicate? does anyone know how i can find that or what it takes to get this done?
