I may have some guesses on cutting and stability of this stone but for right now they need more confirmation and experimentation. Many clues are in your discusion lines, It soaks up water, doesn't like heat, Drying to fast, etc. Think on these and draw your own conclusions. They maybe better than mine. But I do have one comment opticon seems to be the choice stabalizer of the cutting crowd right now. Can be found on ebay. If they keep coming apart on you, perhaps you should try opticon or sit down and study the possibilities before cutting anymore. Or quit. I hate a killer opal falling apart, don't you. I do have a question. How does opticon effect the value of stones in general??? If any one wants to give me a general answer on the opticon devaluation percentage. Say on opals in general that would be great. I realized the value is better than a crazed opal, but how much better??? Joe Vandiver C/O wood@pyatt.net
