This can be a "TIZATE" which is a natural mexican white opal that changes color when heated. It is really light weighted. You can test very easily if it is a "TIZATE", first test is to lick the stone and stick it to your forehead, if it sticks then it is a "TIZATE", second test is to see thru it, almost all black opals will be translucent but this stone will not be translucent.
Also it could be a platic imitation from KYOCERA OPALS. These are really easy to determine. The flash patches are to regular to be truth. I hope this will help you out.
