Michael,
A number of our members have opal from Opal Canyon (not Opal Hill), near Red Rock Canyon State Park in the Mojave Desert. Other U.S. deposits that might interest you are the Black Rock Desert volcanic opal deposits (not Virgin Valley), blue opal in Nevada, the Tecopa deposits near Death Valley, CA, Lead Pipe Springs opal in the China Lake Naval Weapons Center, Idaho opal at Salmon, Woodward Ranch opal in Texas, and Scouts Cove opal in the Mojave near Opal Mountain.
