Thanks for the feedback. They were together for approx 3 weeks and I have often thrown mixed beads together (including silver) in the same type of bag to set aside for a project. This is the first time it had happened, so the opal was the only difference from past experiences.

The silver had not been polished...it was Thai silver(99.9%)...the same exact beads were put into another baggie with some crystals and there was no reaction.

Very, very odd.
