Yes, there is beautiful opal in Nevada. There are 3 or 4 opal mines that you can go to and pay to dig for opal. I think it's around $35 a day for anyone 11 and older and 10 and under is free (this is what I saw on the internet for one of the mines, I'm guessing the others are close to this) . A few of the mines are the Royal Peacock Mine, Opal Queen Mining Co. , Bonanza Opal mine. I have never been to any but I am interested to.
