I saw the special on the travel channel too. The show featured a surface mine owned by a man who charges $70 a day to find your own opals. You get to stake out a spot and dig them out of the side of a 6-8 foot tall ledge. I think it was in north georgia or North Carolina. Can anyone tell me the name of the mine or where it is. I can't find anything about the mine on the internet. I have searced and searched.

I live in florida and I could drive there in a day. I can't go to Nevada. Thats too far. I have a trip planned up that way and it would be cool to stop off and find some treasure :)

Thanks

Thanks
